Thank you, Karen, teacher-librarian from Canada for sending us the Literacy & Compassion Post (1-27-09) and how I am inspiring kids to read and write more. WOW, if a dog could blush, I would! Keep writing and reading everyone! Reading can take you anywhere you want to go! And writing can lead you to all your hearts desires. I am so proud of each and every one of you! - Barbara Techel is the author of the multi-award winning Frankie, the Walk ‘N Roll Dog book series. When her dachshund, Frankie, suffered a spinal injury, Barbara had her custom-fitted for a wheelchair. Frankie persevered, and Barbara realized the beautiful opportunity she had to share Frankie and give others hope and inspiration to be the best they can be. Along with sharing Frankie’s story with children, Barbara and Frankie routinely volunteer as a therapy dog team at a local hospital, senior assisted facility, and hospice community, spreading joy wherever they go.

Oh wow, we just watched the video. Mom's eyes got all wet from the very beginning ... probably because she knew that even among the challenges, your story has a happy ending.

That is absolutely correct... challenges help us to learn and grow and they always reveal a blessing. We just have to keep our eyes wide open and continue to wag our tails...
